In our fast-paced world, it seems like everyone is always in a hurry. It’s hard to find time to eat healthy and cook meals from scratch. That’s why today I’m going to share with you the lazy girl’s (read: me) guide to eating healthy.
This guide will show you how to make smart choices without any effort! So whether you’re short on time or just don’t feel like cooking, follow these tips and you’ll be able to stay healthy without any trouble.
1. Plan ahead by prepping your meals for the week on Sunday
This is by far the easiest way to make healthy choices without any effort. If you have all your meals planned and prepped ahead of time, then you won’t be tempted to order unhealthy takeout or eat junk food.
There are lots of recipes online that can be easily prepped in advance, or you can just cook a big batch of your favorite healthy meal and divide it up into individual servings. This way, you’ll have something quick and easy to eat when you’re short on time.
Planning ahead is also a great way to save money on food. Prepping your meals for the week will help you avoid spending money on expensive takeout or unhealthy snacks.
2. Choose healthy snacks that are easy to grab on-the-go
Whenever you’re short on time, it’s best to stick to healthy snacks that are easy to grab and don’t require any preparation. Some of my favorite quick and easy snacks include fruits and vegetables, nuts, yogurt, trail mix, and whole grain crackers.
These snacks are all packed with nutrients and will help keep you energized throughout the day. Plus, they’re easy to store in your purse or backpack so you can always have them on hand.
If you find yourself snacking more often than you’d like, try prepping your snacks ahead of time so they’re ready to go when you are. This will help you avoid unhealthy temptations and make it easier to stick to your healthy eating goals.
3. Avoid eating out at restaurants, or order wisely when you do
I know, we cannot totally avoid eating out especially if we are always on the go. So, the idea is when eating out, try to order wisely by avoiding unhealthy options like fried food or excessive amounts of sugar. Instead, focus on ordering dishes that are packed with healthy nutrients and minerals.
Some of my favorite healthier restaurant choices include salads, fish, chicken, and vegetable dishes. If you’re unsure about what to order, you can always ask the waiter for suggestions or look up the menu online before you go.
4. Drink plenty of water and avoid sugary drinks
Because we have to drink water anyway, right? But seriously, water is essential for our health and it’s important to drink plenty of it every day. I like to keep a water bottle with me at all times so I can take small sips throughout the day.
In addition to water, try to avoid sugary drinks like soda, juice, and sports drinks. These beverages are high in sugar and calories, and they can quickly sabotage your healthy eating efforts. If you’re craving something sweet, opt for herbal tea or sparkling water with a slice of fruit.
5. Find exercises that you enjoy and can stick with longterm
Last but not least, it’s important to find exercises that you enjoy and can stick with longterm. If you don’t enjoy your workouts, then you’re more likely to skip them or give up altogether.
There are tons of different exercises out there that can help keep you healthy and fit. Try experimenting until you find a few activities that you really enjoy and can see yourself doing on a regular basis.
The Bottom Lines
I hope these tips help you make healthy choices without any effort! Remember, even small changes can lead to big results over time. So don’t be discouraged if you don’t see results immediately, just give yourself time to adjust — it takes a while to form new habits!
