Organic food is on the rise. More and more people are choosing to buy their fruits, vegetables, meats or snack foods at organic markets all around town because they believe that these products will be healthier for you in years ahead when there’s an outbreak from any type of bacteria-caused illness like SARS (Severe Acute Respire Syndrome).
But what about ten or twenty years down line? Will this “organic phenomenon” last forever?
There’s a reason why traditional agriculture still exists. It is much more profitable than organic farming and doesn’t degrade the environment as it becomes obsolete with time.
With chemicals, yields increase and losses decrease; so it leads to increased profits. This means people will still produce even if they have a choice of easy or environmental-friendly way of doing things because in the long run, there are going to be those who just choose whatever gets them by easiest with no regard for anything else other than their own interests. But this won’t last forever either since eventually technology might develop which could make less costly methods more appealing again.
Although organically grown food is a great way to combat world hunger, it can only go so far. With the population expanding rapidly and organic methods being increasingly limiting in terms of space available for crops per person-we will soon run out if we don’t also account for wasted produce that occurs frequently in manyyyyy first world countries!!!
So, does that mean organic is going to ride off into the sunset along with all the other health food fads? Probably not!
Organic agriculture is a recent phenomenon that continues to gain steam. In the past, you had no choice but search high and low in order find organic produce because it was such an uncommon sight for most people at grocery stores around town. Now all of this could change!
Nowadays, more and more people are becoming concerned not only with the health of their families but also that of our environment. The market has responded by offering organic products from a number of major supermarkets, which is great news.
Organic agriculture is a way to break the cycle of poverty
Studies have shown that families who use organic methods in developing countries make more money than traditional farmers and live higher standards of living, all without spraying pesticides or using artificial fertilizers which can damage soil quality over time.
The benefits don’t just stop there! Organic practices also protect biodiversity by keeping out harmful chemicals which means you’re less likely encounter pests like termites under an untreated lawn (or garden), because they won’t be able grow rapidly enough due their lack exposure from toxins present within those conventional farming techniques.
As farmers find themselves having to choose between two different methods of agriculture, it’s likely that the industry will have a hard time evolving. In theory an ideal situation would involve both types being used in conjunction with each other depending on environmental factors such as financial and political situations. However we’re not there yet so things are still pretty up-in-the air when you look at how things could play out for us going forward.
This way, organic agriculture has the benefit of increased yields along with health and environmental benefits. However, this theory will likely remain out of reach until someone can come up with a compromise between traditional agriculture’s mindset that promotes chemical use in order to increase productivity, as well as organic farming’s preference for natural methods which don’t rely on harmful chemicals or pesticides at all costs.
Since the two sides aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, there hasn’t been much progress made yet when it comes down how these issues should be handled by society overall…
Organic agriculture is a great way to make an impact
Although It can’t solve all of our environmental and dietary problems, it does have the ability to take on some tasks that help us out in this day and age when there are so many other pressures facing humanity as well. We live with more than enough resources for everyone right now, so why worsen conditions by using pesticides which are known hazardous chemicals? Why not work towards making things cleaner instead?
What will your future be like? One way to make sure that it’s a good one is by buying organic food and other products. With all of us working together, maybe we can stop environmental destruction in its tracks!
